colors! drawing app for the DS and its potential

When my wife first got her Nintendo DS there was a bunch of good games out there and we both couldn't get enough of the touch-screen goodness that it offered. And now after a little over a year of owning the handheld console we seem to have run out of good games.

Lucky for us DS owners that there is an app out there called Colors! which offers unlimited playability for the creative person. I tried it a while back and I thought it was good for a little sketching when you're feeling a bit bored or if you've ran out of games. But then I saw this video of Christian Pearce creating what I never thought could be achieved in a simple, mini MS Paint-like app for the dual screen: stunning artwork.

This video just blew me away

blogdelanine artsy craft blog

A newly discovered craft blog that I've read every single page of in one sitting.
A lot if inspiring watercolor artwork from this lady named Geninne. Some of the artwork are a bit on the girly side, but still a great blog and great artwork. Watercolor is definitely my favorite medium, used with ink and its a beautiful thing. If you like birds then you'll love this blog. I especially like the hand-carved stamps, she even offers a great tutorial on how to make your own so be sure to check that out.

transforming LEGO mecha

This site I found a few years back when I was looking for cool custom LEGO robots and what a find it was. This guy is one of the better mecha builders out there, transformable Macross robots anyone? He used to sell the custom kits on eBay complete with great instructions and everything, he even grades his creations based on the model's articulation. Excellent, excellent work. Too bad the site hasn't been updated in a while and there aren't anymore kits for sale

Some transforming Valkyries from Macross

The best LEGO Zaku I've ever seen. There is another really good version made by MegaBloks with an RX-78 counterpart but it Isn't LEGO so this one by FoundryDX still takes the cake

The best looking one in my opinion

what it is

I've been wanting to blog for a while now and I've finally decided to share the stuff I've been wasting my time on online which is looking at beautiful, artsy, design-related things.

This blog will focus on mostly things that I find interesting and wonderful to look at, pure eye candy that I stumble upon when killing time. Things like art, designer toys, illustrations, LEGO creations, robots, furniture, papercraft and other creative stuff that I find visually pleasing and inspiring.
I might post a few non-artsy related things from time to time but generally this is an art/design blog

What I post may not be necessarily new content, some stuff could be years old taken from a forgotten website or another blog but, nevertheless, still worth a peek.

for the first few days I will be posting a bunch of interesting stuff that I've found over the years which are right at the top of my head just to get things going.

So I'm gonna stop yappin now and work on the first official post, see you in a bit.
